
Although it’s been weeks since we’ve had snow on the ground here in southern New Hampshire, sometimes in the shelter of a shady slope, in the crook of a mossy tree root, you’ll see stubborn pockets of lingering ice: proof that Old Man Winter isn’t dead, just hiding.

This “winter in hiding” picture sure beats the large, 2-story mound of gravely snow in the middle of our parking lot at work.

I’m glad you enjoyed it! Although moss stays green all year, it seems to get *greener* when the days grow longer in the springtime. So these days, these mossy spots are a delight for winter-tired eyes!
