Piled higher & deeper
Posted by Lorianne under Boston, Massachusetts, Old & abandoned, Uncategorized
While I’m still slogging away with the mid- and end-term grading I mentioned yesterday, here’s a photo of a stack of salvaged (and still intact) railroad ties and rails I shot in Boston over the weekend. Sometimes if you walk on the wrong side of the tracks (or in this case, if you explore the backside of the Boston Convention Center), you’ll catch a glimpse of the underside of the tracks. Compared to a pile of salvaged railroad ties and rails, a mere paper pile seems a bit less intimidating.

What a marvelous photo, Lorianne - thought at first I was looking at Manhattan from above. Disorienting, now that I know what it is but can still see the city-scape.

Yes, I love the fact that these don’t look like railroad ties, at least viewed from this angle. It’s not a perspective you’d normally have.

Great shot! Looks like a bird’s eye view of downtown
