Yellowjacket on lilac leaves

Today’s “Photo Friday” theme is “Macro.” I’ve had this current digital camera for almost a year now, we had a hand-me-down digi-cam for a year or so before that, and I never realized that there is a special “macro” setting for taking extreme close-up shots. All this time I’ve been trying (unsuccessfully) to take close-up pix of wildflowers, insects, and such, and all this time I’ve been wondering why none of them turn out. Duh. Guess I should have read the Owner’s Manual. So, here are two pix taken in my own backyard with the new-to-me Macro setting on my digi-cam: guess you can expect to see more close-up pix of flowers and insects in the days to come as I play with this newly-discovered feature.
