It should come as no surprise that the woman who has a rubber ducky shower curtain also has red flannel puppy pajamas. Here in New Hampshire, flannel pajamas (and flannel sheets if you’re a true sensualist) are a necessity. (If you don’t believe me, go ask Amy about her monkey pajamas.) I switched from regular to flannel sheets back in September, and today I bought a new pair of flannel pajamas: red glow in the dark puppy pajamas. Okay, I wasn’t exactly sold on the “glow in the dark” part: who knows what kind of radioactive element is responsible for that. But I needed new flannel pjs, and I couldn’t resist the cute doggies…
After teaching the last of today’s classes, I’m on break until next Tuesday, so I’ll be spending a lot of time in my pjs this week. I’m looking forward to my own private pajama party: I plan to spend my time writing in pjs, blogging in pjs, reading papers in pjs, cleaning the house in pjs… In fact, apart from walking the dog, I just might spend every moment from now until next Tuesday in my apartment in my pjs. So, don’t mind me and my glow-in-the-dark doggies: we’re nestled down, snug and comfy for the night, the week, and on through the weekend.

Heck, we even use flannel sheets down here in Texas.
But I don’t wear pajamas.

Uh. Okay. I confess.
I am sitting here at this very moment wearing blue pajamas with yellow dogs wearing magenta collars.
If I get inspired, I will send photos of my sadly threadbare, well beloved dog jammies, and also the nine puppies we are fostering in the next room.

Can we also take a moment to be thankful for long weekends, particularly the opportunity to spend long weekends in solitude? I will get dressed long enough tomorrow to have a meal with friends, but I luxuriate in having long hours to do whatever strikes me as the next good thing to do. Finish my curtains? Work on that NaNoNovel? Who knows? I am grateful for that open vista.

Hmmmm, Bill, I’m not sure if that comment falls into the “too much information” category, but I am glad that *you* are comfortable with your sleepwear choices! 😉
aboutlastnight, you’re right about “pilling” flannel sheets: you have to get really nice flannel for the best experience. And it sounds like you are *addicted* to pajama bottoms: heck, you have more pairs than days of the week!
Karen, it’s 11:30 am as I’m writing this comment, and I’m still in my pjs (old ones) after having slept until after 9 am. (That is absurdly late for my usual early-bird self.) Eventually I’ll have to shower & dress to head to the laundromat to wash those brand-new pjs, but in the meantime, I’m really enjoying being a couch potato!

We use flannel sheets here in SoCal too. And I wear light blue flannel pj’s decorated with gray kittens. Yay for jammies!

Love the pj’s! I have cranberry red flannel sheets I ordered from LL Bean three years ago. Wonderful. They don’t pill at all. But flannel pj’s are too warm for me – t-shirt and string pants.

duckies and doggies … your place is obviously a zoo, which certainly must make you the zookeeper-in-charge, eh?
Glow in the dark is a bit spooky, which you’ll find out the first night you get up in the middle of the night only to jump back in fright when you catch a glimpse of your levitating doggies in the mirror! Please, please … have your camera ready!

Yes, it definitely seems that cute animal-themed pjs are wildly popular, at least amongst my female readers! 🙂
Just between you & me, Leslee (shhh, don’t tell!), I wear the flannel pjs for lounging but usually shed them before crawling between flannel sheets: flannel on flannel is too hot except for the coldest of nights! My first set of flannel sheets was from Landsend, and they lasted for years before literally wearing out.
ntexas, I *did* burst out laughing the first night I went to bed *glowing*: the puppies don’t glow, but there are little stars that you don’t see until you turn out the lights. So in the darkness, I’m *spangled*, baby!!! 🙂
Good to see everyone’s enjoying my pjs as much as I am!
