Happy Independence Day to you all, regardless of where in this colorful country you hang your hat.
Today’s image of two art-appreciating cowgirls comes from my 2007 visit to New York’s Museum of Modern Art, which I’ve previously blogged. If you’re in the mood for some more conventional patriotic images on this July 4th holiday, check out my Memorial Day photo-set. Enjoy!

That is a great art-museum shot.

Is there a more sure-fire way to look like an idiot than donning a cowboy hat?

It’s one of my favorite images. I can’t remember if these “cowgirls” were wearing cowboy boots to complete their outfits. Cowboy hats and/or boots are a look only some folks can pull off. I don’t happen to be one of them.

Don’t worry, nobody can pull it off.
I particularly get the heebie-jeebies when I see zillionaire “country” singers with the affectation of a cowboy hat.

The sure test of whether it is an affectation is whether they take it off indoors. They don’t.
