I never knew what pokeweed was but now I know I’ve been looking at these all my life in Massachusetts. I’ve always thought these were kinda cute with the little green knobs after they flower. Your photos of them are awesome. I love peering into plants up close.

Pokeweed is probably most recognizable when its berries are ripe: dark purple fruit on bright pink stems. I’m sure I’ll photograph that stage when it comes; in the meantime, I love the various opening acts. 🙂
