They say the cobbler’s children have no shoes, and it seems the proprietors of Pill Hardware in Central Square, Cambridge are so busy helping other folks with their home improvement projects, they don’t have time to give their old sign a new coat of paint.

Yes, I’ve blogged before about my love for rusted metal and peeling paint, connecting my fondness for old things that look old to my conscious decision not to dye my hair. There’s something about chipped & peeling paint that gives character to a thing, and I feel the same way about graying hair & wrinkles on a person.
