Some mornings, our beagle, Melony, is mellow enough to pose for photos, either by herself or with a cooperative cat or two.
On most mornings, however, both Melony and our Labrador retriever, MAD, are antsy to go outside, which means all I get for morning photos are shots of blurry fur.
This is my submission for today’s Photo Friday theme, Mornings.

That’s so cute. I love the expectant stare in Melony’s face. I recognize that from my dog days! And the last one is funny – laughing dogs!

That last photo is quintessential MAD and Melony. Melony is hyper, and MAD is a big, blond goofball, and that photo captures both of their personalities.

Aww, Melony! Why is MAD named MAD, in all caps? MAD as in CRAZY?

Steve, I’ve been waiting for someone to ask about MAD’s name! It’s actually an acronym for Michael Angelo Dog, which is his official dog-tag name. When J adopted him, his name was “Madison,” which is the name his vet records are still in. “Madison” was too serious a name for his goofball personality, so J shortened it to MAD and came up with the acronym.
I do sometimes call him “MADness,” though, since he IS a little bit crazy…

Ha! Funny how pet names evolve, isn’t it? After all our agonizing about what to name Olga, I find that I mostly call her “Goofball.”

Melony has a quintessential beagle face. Flora was part beagle, wasn’t she? They’re such fun dogs.

Really I don’t know if Flora had a beagle in her breed…
Love seeing again your lovely furry friends! So nice to have such adorable friends.

Your MAD must have been precious. Labs usually are and so smart. I had a black one. Smartest dog I ever had. I’m sure through the sad times that the glad times overtook the sad. Dogs are so loyal.
