Last night, after having spent the afternoon in Boston with friends, I hopped on the subway to zip back to Newton, only to learn that downed trees from yesterday’s macroburst windstorm had blocked the D-line tracks. As I boarded an MBTA bus shuttling passengers around the blocked tracks, I looked up to see clearing skies framing Boston’s famous Citgo sign: a moment of calm after the storm.
